An expressive and charming floral still life by French artist Constant Censier (1924-1987). Although he also painted in Normandy, Censier was a Montmartre artist, his work being reminiscent of Gen Paul and Soutine.
Painted in oils on masonite artist board, our work of art dates from circa 1960. It is signed at the lower right, and on the verso is titled with a sweet, modest and prosaic description in French (the translation is: "Some blue and red flowers...blue pot!" . Measuring 27 x 22 cm, the overall framed size is 40 x 35 cm.
