Antique French 1920s Abstract Surrealist Collage On Board

It is unclear whether it is an intentional, Kurt Schwitters style collage, or simply a particularly interesting antique backing board from the 1920s, which someone deigned attractive enough to be treated as an artwork in its own right.

It is, at any rate, an antique, extraordinarily decorative, fascinating and striking composition.

French in origin, it measures 31 x 33 cm. In a more modern frame, the overall size is 47 x 47 cm.
