A charming antique miniature line drawing depicting the heart of Paris, in 1861. Depicted are the Seine and what was then the "Quai des Ormes" (it was later renamed "Quai de l'Htel de Ville"). Visible are the Pont Louis-Philippe and the Palais de la Cit, but more importantly, a multitude of strollers, a lady with a parasol, workers, coaches and boatmen. Drawn in China ink, our drawing measures 10.5 x 15 cm, is situated, dated and bearing a monogram which I have not been able to identify. The overall size in a frame from circa 1900, with plaster loss to one side, is 19 x 23 cm.
